Add a countdown to the StandBy widget view

StandBy belongs to iOS. Use a charging iPhone positioned on its side and an installed Daymark app with a saved mark.

  1. Open iPhone Settings and confirm StandBy is enabled.
  2. Connect the iPhone to power and position it horizontally and stationary.
  3. Lock the phone and let StandBy appear. Use the model's supported wake action if needed.
  4. Swipe to StandBy's widget view.
  5. Touch and hold a widget stack, unlock if asked, and use its add control.
  6. Choose Daymark, finish editing, and check the selected countdown.

Why the display may go dark

Always-On display support and StandBy display settings affect how long the screen stays visible. Some models need a tap or another supported wake action. A dark screen does not necessarily mean the Daymark countdown stopped working.

Choose what appears in a shared room

Choose a title that suits a shared room. Compare the widget with the app if the count looks stale. Use a separate alarm for waking up or an important departure. StandBy gives the countdown a display surface, not a guaranteed alarm function.

If a different widget keeps appearing

StandBy stacks can rotate or suggest widgets. Review the stack's available rotation and suggestion settings when you want a particular countdown to remain visible. Screen sleep is a separate device setting. Not every iPhone has an Always-On display.
