Use Yearly for the occasion itself

Start with the genuine month and day. A birthday's date should not change merely because this year's party happens on a different weekend.

  1. Open the birthday or anniversary and tap the pencil.
  2. Check Target date against the original occasion.
  3. Open Repeat and choose Yearly under Recurrence.
  4. Review Reminders for the next occurrence.
  5. Tap Save and inspect the next event date.
  6. Keep one-time party or travel bookings as separate marks.

Keep the recurring date stable

The recurring occasion and the practical plan answer different questions. A birthday remains the same while the restaurant booking may change. Keeping them separate avoids carrying a one-time booking into next year's countdown by mistake.

Check the next birthday or anniversary

For a February 29 birthday, check the next date against the celebration you want. Add a one-time countdown for another celebration date. Review this year's bookings and preparation list.
