Edit the existing mark after confirming a change
Have the new schedule available. Keep the same mark when its planning pack and original identity still belong to the event.
- Open the affected countdown and tap the pencil.
- Change Target date, or Begins and Ends for an event with an end date.
- Under Optional timing and place, review the target time and Time zone.
- Review Recurrence and Reminders.
- Tap Save and inspect the saved event details.
- Check widgets and tell recipients of any old share card about the change.
When widgets still show the old date
The saved date can appear in the app before widgets or Apple Watch refresh. Check each view while keeping the existing countdown. You do not need a duplicate to update the date.
Tell people when the date changes
Tell anyone relying on the date directly. A previously shared card is an image and will not change after the edit. If the event came from Calendar, compare the source and countdown rather than assuming every import remains linked.
Do not fight a linked Calendar source
If the event was imported with Keep imported events linked, the Calendar source can refresh connected details. Check the source first when a manual edit does not persist. A nonlinked import is a separate mark. Do not import a duplicate to test an edit.
