Set the birthday to repeat yearly

Use the birthday as a date-only countdown and enable Yearly under Recurrence. Add a separate timed countdown if the party falls on another day.

Preparation checklist

Choose the tasks you need and add anything specific to your plans.

• Choose a gift and check its delivery date before ordering.
• Confirm whether the celebration is on the birthday or another day.
• Book a table or activity only after checking who can come.
• Arrange the cake and check any dietary needs with the guests.
• Set a reminder to write the card and wrap the gift.
• Keep the delivery reference private rather than putting it in a shared card.

Check gifts and final party plans

Check the arrival of anything you ordered. If the party date moves, edit that countdown rather than changing the person's birthday. A photo widget can keep the occasion visible, while the checklist helps you remember what is still unfinished.

Set up a birthday countdown in Daymark

Add the next birthday you want to remember, then choose a photo and an early reminder.

1. Add a countdown and give Title a name you will recognize, such as Maya's birthday.
2. Set Target date to the birthday. Leave Include a target time off for an ordinary birthday.
3. Choose Yearly under Recurrence when the same month and day should return every year.
4. Add a photo and select a reminder early enough to buy or send the gift.
5. Save, check the next occurrence, and add a Home Screen widget if you want the days left in view.

When the birthday and party fall on different days

For a Thursday birthday and a Saturday party, keep Thursday as the yearly birthday. Add Saturday separately with the venue and cake collection. Choose the celebration date for a February 29 birthday in a non-leap year.
