Choose a birthday from Contacts
Check that the contact record has the correct month and day. Do not invent a birth year. Permission and your remaining active allowance apply.
- Open Settings, choose Import dates, then Birthdays.
- Use the system's Contacts access controls if requested.
- Choose the relevant entry in Import Birthdays.
- Check the supplied birthday details before importing.
- Open the created mark and inspect the next occurrence.
- Set a preparation reminder and check February 29 explicitly when relevant.
Separate birthday from celebration
The birthday is a yearly date. A party on a nearby weekend is a different one-time event. Keep the original contact date stable, and use a separate countdown if the celebration needs its own time, venue or checklist.
Check missing and February 29 birthdays
Review February 29 explicitly in a non-leap year. Keep names and photos out of public cards unless you intend to share them. If a contact has no birthday saved, update it through your own contact record before expecting a correct import.
If a contact is not offered
Check whether that contact has a birthday saved in the Contacts app and is available through the granted access. A name alone supplies no birthday. Correct the source record first. Import only the people whose dates you want to keep visible.
