Move a mark to Past without deleting it

Archiving keeps a record. Export content you want outside the app before any irreversible deletion.

  1. Open the countdown and check that it is the intended mark.
  2. Open its ellipsis menu.
  3. Choose Move to Past, not Delete.
  4. Open Past and inspect the retained mark.
  5. For an archived mark you want back, open the menu and choose Restore to Marks.
  6. Check the resulting status and any active-limit message.

Archiving is not erasing

An archived mark remains part of your Daymark data. A completed event can also appear in Past because its date has passed. Restoring a future mark may make it active again, so check the free active-countdown limit before assuming restoration always succeeds.

If an archived countdown is missing

If you cannot find the mark, check its date and whether it is archived before creating another copy. Do not use deletion as a refresh test. Changes may sync through private iCloud, so treat an intentional delete as a separate, consequential choice.

Recurring marks have an extra boundary

Moving a recurring occasion to Past can preserve that occurrence while its next occurrence stays in Marks. Do not assume the action removes every future birthday. Inspect both views after archiving. Delete and archive serve different purposes.
