Choose the export format for the job
Keep the source data until you have checked the file. JSON and a calendar file do not preserve the same information in other software.
- Open Settings and find Export your data under iCloud & data.
- Choose Daymark JSON for the app's data structure or Calendar file for calendar software.
- Use the system save or sharing controls to choose a destination you control.
- Locate the saved file and inspect that it opens.
- Check that the dates and fields you need are present.
- Keep the original marks and important photos until you have verified your intended use.
The two formats serve different jobs
JSON represents Daymark's exported data structure. A calendar file focuses on calendar events and their dates. Importing that file elsewhere does not reproduce the whole Daymark interface, widget arrangement or photo layout. Review the destination software's import behavior.
Keep personal exports private
An exported file can contain personal event details. Store and share it deliberately. Do not attach a complete archive to support merely to demonstrate one timing problem. A cropped screenshot and the relevant date convention are usually a safer starting point.
An export is not a tested restore
A saved file proves only that you exported something. Verify its content and compatibility before relying on it as a backup. Settings also offers Import Daymark JSON. Importing a calendar file elsewhere does not recreate the Daymark layout or widget arrangement.
