Create a category and assign it in the editor

A category groups marks. It does not change a date, repeat rule or active-countdown allowance. Start with a few categories you will use.

  1. Open Settings and choose Categories under Organization.
  2. Enter Category name and select Color, or choose a useful Suggested category.
  3. Tap Create category for a new named category.
  4. Open the relevant countdown's editor.
  5. Choose the category using Category and tap Save.
  6. Review the mark in the broader list before treating a filtered absence as deletion.

Keep labels separate from status

A trip can belong to Travel while it is upcoming, in progress or past. Do not create a new category for every state if the app already represents that state. Use the category to describe the event, not to fix an incorrect target date.

If a countdown is missing from a category

Check how the chosen view uses categories before assuming that a missing mark was deleted. Open the broader date list and review the saved title. A simpler category system often makes two free countdowns easier to try before expanding to Unlimited.

Removing a label is not completing an event

Travel, Work or Family describes the type of occasion. Upcoming, in progress and Past describe its state. Keep those ideas separate. If you cannot find a mark, check the wider list and its saved status before changing the date.
