Set the countdown date

Use the original month and day for a yearly anniversary countdown. If you celebrate on the nearest weekend, add that weekend as a separate event. The anniversary calculator can show the next occurrence and completed years without changing the original date.

Preparation checklist

Choose the tasks you need and add anything specific to your plans.

  • Agree on whether the celebration happens on the date or a nearby weekend.
  • Choose a plan that fits the time you both have available.
  • Check restaurant or accommodation availability before promising a surprise.
  • Choose a photo connected to the original occasion.
  • Set a reminder early enough to book or order what you need.
  • Keep the original date as a past memory if you want to see time since it.

Confirm the anniversary celebration

Confirm the practical plan rather than only checking the number of days left. If the booking moves, update the celebration event. Leave the recurring anniversary unchanged. A static countdown card can be a personal invitation, but its displayed number will not update after sending.

Keep the occasion and the celebration separate

For an anniversary on April 12, keep April 12 as the yearly date. If dinner is April 10, create that booking separately. Add a meaningful photo to the anniversary. Put the restaurant link and transport task in the dinner's planning pack.

Set up the next anniversary

Create the anniversary, set Target date, and choose Yearly under Recurrence. Save and check the next occurrence. Add a reminder with enough time to book your plan. Keep a past mark separately when you want to remember the original day.

Create an anniversary countdown

Add your anniversary once and use yearly repeat for the next celebration. Keep a favorite photo beside the days left.
