Set the countdown date
Use the start date confirmed by the employer. A contract date, orientation session and first working shift may differ. For a remote role, confirm the time zone of the first meeting instead of assuming that the time follows your current location.
Preparation checklist
Choose the tasks you need and add anything specific to your plans.
- Confirm the first-day time and the person you should contact.
- Check whether the first day is remote or at a named location.
- Read the employer's equipment and arrival instructions.
- Plan the route or test the required meeting software.
- Prepare only the documents the employer has actually requested.
- Keep credentials and identity documents out of countdown notes.
Check the employer's latest instructions
Recheck the employer's message the day before. Set a system alarm separately if the first meeting cannot be missed. A neutral widget title can remind you of the start without exposing an employer's private onboarding information on the Lock Screen.
Use the employer's confirmed first-day instructions
Create a countdown for the agreed first working day. Add the exact time and zone for a remote welcome meeting if needed. Put equipment and arrival checks in a planning pack. Store onboarding documents in the employer's requested system, not in a countdown title.
A contract date is not always an arrival time
A contract might begin on Monday while orientation happens Tuesday. Count toward the moment you actually need to attend. Keep the employer's original instructions available. If the schedule changes, edit the mark and review its reminder rather than relying on the old count.
Count down to your new job
Add your new start date and a short preparation checklist. Set a reminder before the first morning.
