Set the countdown date
Use the visitor's confirmed arrival date rather than the day they begin traveling. If arrival crosses time zones, record the destination's local time for pickup. An end date can mark the visit's length without turning the countdown into a flight tracker.
Preparation checklist
Choose the tasks you need and add anything specific to your plans.
- Confirm who is coming and which arrival details are final.
- Arrange pickup or explain the route from the station or airport.
- Prepare sleeping arrangements and check practical needs.
- Agree on one or two plans without filling every day.
- Share the useful arrival instructions directly with the visitors.
- Keep return travel details in the planning notes.
Recheck arrival before pickup
Recheck arrival information on the day, especially after travel delays. Keep a neutral event title if a widget is visible in a shared space. After the visit, you can keep a photo and the date as a memory without leaving the preparation checklist active.
Count toward arrival in the place you will meet
For a visitor who leaves Monday but lands Tuesday, Tuesday is the arrival target. Enter the destination's local time and zone when pickup depends on the clock. Add an end date if you want the visit's full span. Check actual travel updates separately.
Use the preparation list for hosting
Add tasks for sleeping arrangements, pickup and a first meal. Keep return travel in Reservations & links. Choose a family photo for the countdown if you want. Avoid putting a private address or children's travel details in a card you send widely.
Count down to seeing your family
Choose a family photo and keep the arrival date in view. Save the hosting checklist and useful links with it.
